The Harsh Reality of Finding Jobs in Germany

By: Richmond Gold Anyidoho

Writing to you right away after what just happened.

A recent graduate from the University of Stuttgart, living in Ludwigsburg.

He and I were just on a call.

And it was not pleasant— to say the least.

He looked stressed.

Really stressed.

Why?

Because the clock is ticking.

  • Job Seeker Visa: 18 months.
  • Time Passed: 3 months.

He's applying for jobs—in English.

What happens?

Every reply asks the same question:
"Do you speak German?"

The phone rings.

Immediate German conversation. No English.

And that’s the brutal reality.

Language Matters

In Germany, you need German.

  • French in France.
  • English in England.
  • Danish in Denmark.
  • Russian in Russia.

Simple? Yes.
Obvious? Absolutely.

Yet, too many people overlook it.

A Moment I'll Never Forget

This bright, talented, hardworking student told me:

"I wish I'd learned German earlier. Back in India. When I still had time and no pressure."

Not a joke—I’ve probably said this a thousand times:

If you want a real chance in Europe's LARGEST economy, learn its national language before you arrive.

Please.

It’s easy—when you do your homework.
It really is doable.

This is why we even offer a 6-month placement guarantee in our job placement program at BDEE Global! It’s a membership program for our registered students.

Now?

It’s a pressure cooker:

  • Stress.
  • Regret.
  • Anxiety.
  • Applications piling up.
  • Rejections piling higher.

Language barriers slamming doors shut, one after another.

It’s tough. Unfair. Frustrating. Exhausting.

But most importantly—it’s avoidable.

Take Action

If you're planning a future in Germany:

  • Don't wait.
  • Don't procrastinate.
  • Don't gamble with your future.

Start learning German now.

Because when you're already deep into the struggle, calling us for help, the only truth we can offer is:

"You should've started earlier."

Once you’re in Germany, life gets busy—fast.

But right now?

You still have time.

In the comfort of your home.

You're in charge of your own reality.

The choice—and the consequences—are yours alone.

Take control. Take action.

P.S.

The best time to start learning German was yesterday.

The next best time?

Right now.

Every day counts.

Don't waste another one.
